Is my 2 or 3 year old really able to dance? How much are they learning?

Teaching young children is one of our specialties. Many of the common obstacles with teaching young children can be overcome with consistency and a smile! All of our lead teachers are high energy, experienced adult instructors with an enriching comprehensive full curriculum for maximum development. Not only are they learning dance skills and steps, they are learning so much more. They are learning to follow direction from a teacher, working together with their friends, classroom etiquette, balance, large motor skills, small motor skills, rhythm with counting, and more. Our toddler classes really do work their mind, body, and heart. You do not need to be toilet trained in order to participate.

Can parents watch?

Yes. Our location offers parents a viewing area if you wish to watch. However we do ask that you stay in these viewing areas and not interrupt the class by coming in the room or standing against the shelves. To view into the second studio, we have added a camera linked to a TV in the lobby. That way you can watch your student without distracting the class. This is especially helpful for young children who get distracted easily. We also offer free Wi–Fi and a Family Friendly Atmosphere. Our St. Paul Studio has a family room like atmosphere with a large comfortable couch and a toy area. Parents may choose to either drop off their student or hang out. Some parents choose to relax at the Golden Thyme Coffee shop located next door.

Are your classes diverse?

We encourage diversity in all of our classes. We want an environment that represents the City of St. Paul and it’s surrounding areas with diversity in skin color, age, gender, culture, body type, and ability. Our classes are fully inclusive and embrace the philosophy that Dance is a gift for ALL to share.

Do you have a Dance Recital?

Yes. We have an annual on stage dance recital with costumes in mid June. All regular season dance and music classeswill participate, except for fitness classes. Participation is highly encouraged, but optional. Students who choose to participate will be required to purchase a dance costume. We break down our costume fee into small monthly payments to make it affordable, especially for families with multiple children and/or multiple classes. We will also have a professional photographer come to take class pictures at the dance studio with the costumes on a separate day.
