FAQ

Do I need to wear special clothing or shoes to my FREE trial class?

No. Although our regular classes do have specific uniforms based on the style of dance and age, we do not enforce this for your FREE trial class. Once you decide to enroll, we can fit you for the requirements of that class. Our store offers many dance attire items in stock, and we can get orders filled in a week. Our dance wear prices are very reasonable, and the quality is great. However, if you happen to have dance attire and shoes, you may certainly wear them.

Is my 2 or 3 year old really able to learn dance?

Teaching young children is one of our specialties. Many of the common obstacles with teaching young children can be overcome with consistency and a smile! All of our lead teachers are high energy, experienced adult instructors with an enriching comprehensive full curriculum for maximum development. You do not need to be toilet trained in order to participate.

Are your classes diverse?

We encourage diversity in all of our classes. We want an environment that represents the City of St. Paul and it’s surrounding areas with diversity in skin color, age, gender, culture, body type, and ability. Our classes are fully inclusive and embrace the philosophy that Dance is a gift for ALL to share.

How often do classes meet?

Classes typically meet once a week. If you have a fitness punch card, you may come to any or all of the fitness classes on the schedule with a reservation. If you would like to come more often, we do offer a multiple class discount. If you miss a dance class, you can make up in any other age appropriate class.

Do you have a Dance Recital?

Yes. We have an annual on stage dance recital with costumes in mid June. All regular season dance and music classes will participate, except for fitness classes. Participation is highly encouraged, but optional. Students who choose to participate will be required to purchase a dance costume. We will also have a professional photographer come to take class pictures at the dance studio with the costumes on a separate day.

Are there classes for Girls AND Boys?

Both Boys and Girls enjoy our classes. Our curriculum is very gender neutral with a focus on life lessons and dance technique. Boys have a more relaxed uniform (shorts and t–shirts with black shoes) to make them feel comfortable. Diversity is something we strive for, and including both girls and boys in classes offers a unique opportunity to learn from each other.

Can parents watch?

Yes. Our location offers a parents viewing areas if you wish to watch. We also offer free Wi–Fi and a Family Friendly Atmosphere. Our St. Paul Studio has a family room like atmosphere with a large comfortable couch and a toy area. Parents may choose to either drop off their student or hang out.

Do you have multiple class and family discounts?

Yes. Enroll in any weekly class, and receive the second/third/forth at 40% off per month. Includes every class. Family discount is the same, 40% off the second/third/forth student. Students can get either discount, but not both. Not valid with other discounts or promotions. Discount on least expensive class.

My child wants to learn Hip Hop, what is it?

Teaching Hip Hop to children is one of our specialties. All of our instructors use age appropriate choreography and music to fulfill the excited minds of young children!
Hip Hop is a dance technique that started on the streets of New York and has morphed into this truly uniquely American Dance Style with corresponding music and art. All of our classes focus on technique and art of Hip Hop rather than what they may see on TV. Classes feature learning styles such as: Poping, Locking, Tuting, Crumping, Waving, Footwork, etc.. Students will also get a chance to learn some of the most up–to–date dance moves as our teachers are always continuing their education.

Do you offer scholarships?

For families going through a financial difficulty, we wish for students to still be able to attend classes. Although we do not at this time offer scholarships, we may be able to offer tuition credits in exchange for volunteer hours. Delinquent accounts are not eligible. The number of volunteers will be limited. Volunteer Guidelines must be followed, or you will be responsible for the tuition in full.

We also have a Booster Club that participates in fundraising for competition fees, costumes, and uniforms.
